Current library access options
To be able to visit the library, all visitors need to bring their valid and activated LU-Card.
Current access options:
- Leiden University students may access the library during their reserved study place time-slot
- For Leiden University staff and PhDs, several study places are available (no reservation option)
- Patrons wishing to pick up requested library materials from the book lockers may do so, without making an appointment
There are no options for library group viewings or teacher and students tours.
The Social and Behavioural Sciences Library at a glance
The Social and Behavioural Sciences Library has 150 regular study places, 60 computer study places, and a comfortable lounge area. Only Leiden University students can reserve a computer study place.
The book collection is shelved according to the Library of Congress Classification. A substantial part of the collection has been transferred to the University Library. All of these publications can be requested using the catalogue.
All library materials requested for pick-up at the Social and Behavioural Sciences Library are placed in book lockers. Books can be collected from the lockers during the Pieter de la Court building opening hours.
