The library locations offer over 1.860 study places, with and without computer.

Current library services

Due to nationwide coronavirus regulations, Leiden University Libraries (UBL) has had to adjust its services. Please find an overview on our webpage on library services during the coronavirus situation.

UBL library services during the coronavirus situation

At the moment, study places can be used by Leiden University students. Study places need to be booked in advance

From 12 July until 1 September 2021, several study places will be made available for use by Leiden University staff.

Studying and conversation

Several areas within the libraries, specifically the reading rooms, are marked as quiet zones. Outside of these zones you may confer in a subdued voice, as long as you make sure to respect current social distancing rules.

Wireless networks

Leiden University offers two wireless networks: Eduroam (preferred, for students and staff) and Leiden University Wireless Access. Information regarding these networks can be found on the the university’s ICT Shared Service Centre's webpage.

Single occupancy study rooms in the UB

The University Library on Witte Singel offers sixteen individual study rooms for reservation by Leiden University students.

Apart from to the regular Leiden University Libraries rules of conduct, in the individual rooms several specific rules apply.
