Where can I find the libraries?

Leiden University has library locations in Leiden and The Hague. Check out the map below to see which location is closest to you. Because of the coronavirus, some locations have been closed. Four locations are open, but to study there, you'll first have to reserve a time slot for a study place.

University Library (UB) and Asian Library

The largest library in Leiden is the University Library at the Witte Singel 27. The Humanities are the main focus of this library. The UB has the most study spaces of all our locations, although only a portion of those are available at the moment. To study at the library, you'll have to reserve a time slot for a study place. Law Library

The Law Library can be found at the Kamerlingh Onnes building (KOG) on the Steenschuur 25. The Law Library has a spacious reading room where you can take books off the shelves and borrow them at the lending desk. Many of the study spaces at this location are equipped with a desktop computer. Like the UB, the Law Library is often open until late in the evening and you can study there on the weekends. To study at the Law Library, you'll have to reserve a time slot for a study place. To enter the Law Library, you need a LU-Card. Social and Behavioural Sciences Library

The Social and Behavioural Sciences Library can be found in the Pieter de la Court building at the Wassenaarseweg 52 in Leiden. In this library, you can take books off the shelves and borrow them at the lending desk as well. To study at the Social and Behavioural Sciences Library, you'll have to reserve a time slot for a study place. Wijnhaven Library, The Hague

You can find the Wijnhaven Library at Turfmarkt 90 in The Hague. Our newest library location can be found in The Hague within a stone‚Äôs throw of The Hague Central Station. If you have classes in The Hague, Wijnhaven Library is your library of choice. If you want to study at the Wijnhaven Library, you'll have to reserve a time slot for a study place. Walaeus Library LUMC

The Walaeus Library is located at the LUMC and is exclusively accessible to medical students. At the Walaeus Library all of the specialist literature you need is at your fingertips. Find more information on the Walaeus Library here or speak to one of our staff members.

Science Library

The Science Library is currently closed due to the coronavirus. Normally the Science Library has two locations: in the LMUY and Snellius buildings. Do you want a quiet spot to study at the Bio Science Park? You can always find one at these libraries during the opening hours of these faculty buildings.
