How to book a study place?
We have inspiring study places at all our locations. Some 2300 in total. Whether you want to work alone or in a group, or need a computer, you'll find your new favourite study spot in the library. Some study places must be booked in advance.
Book a study place
You can reserve your study place via the online booking system or through our app.
Select the library of your choice, log in with your ULCN account, and choose your preferred study spot. At the location, you can check in using your LU-Card or by scanning a QR code.
Reservations can be made up to two days in advance. Once your current reservation has ended, you can book a new time slot.
Do you have questions about booking a study place? Visit the support page, ask us online or just visit one of our libraries.
When to book
Exam periods
Outside of exam periods, almost all study places are available without a reservation. During exam periods, however, reservations are usually required.
Group study rooms and computer spots
Individual study rooms, collaboration rooms and study places with a computer or external screen must always be booked in advance. Only Leiden University students can reserve study places. Non-reservable spots can be used by anyone with a valid and activated LU-Card.
In our libraries, you’ll find three types of standard study places, marked with stickers at each desk.
Study places in faculty buildings
Did you know you can also reserve study places and free lecture rooms in all faculty buildings, Plexus and Beehive to study and work together?
