December-January exam period at the libraries
During the busy exam period from 8 December 2025 until 1 February 2026, all study places marked with a dark blue or a light blue sticker need to be booked in advance, using Leiden University's online booking system. Only Leiden University students can book study places.
Most libraries offer a few freely available study places, for those visitors to whom the library access restrictions do not apply. These seats are marked with a white sticker.
Library access
Specific access regulations apply during the busy exam period. From 8 December until 1 February, the following visitor groups do not have access to the libraries:
- students registered at educational institutions other than Leiden University
- annual fee card holders who do not verifiably depend on Leiden University Libraries' collections for their research
The Law Library is closed to mentioned user groups year-round.
