Scholarly Publications Upgraded: Research Archive Ready for the Future

Scholarly Publications, Leiden University’s research repository, has been migrated to the Alma Digital platform. Thanks to this modernization, the repository now aligns seamlessly with the other systems of Leiden University Libraries (UBL).

During the transition to the new platform, familiar functionalities and open access availability have been retained, while the search and management environments have been fully modernized. Because Scholarly Publications now runs on the same technological infrastructure as the UBL catalogue, Leiden’s academic output is stored more robustly and is prepared for future innovations in the digital information landscape.

Showcase of Leiden Research

Scholarly Publications brings together all research from Leiden University and affiliated institutes in a single location. Since 2006, the platform has provided access to dissertations, articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings. Thanks to global open access, these publications are freely accessible wherever possible, ensuring that Leiden research reaches a wide audience and maximizes its impact.

More upgrades

The migration of Scholarly Publications represents a key milestone within the Repository Replacement project. Student Theses was previously successfully transferred to Alma Digital, and Digital Collections will also be updated in the coming period. Through these steps, UBL is modernizing its overall digital infrastructure.
