Updated thesis repository built for the future
Student Theses, the thesis repository of Leiden University, has been migrated to the new Alma Digital platform. Due to this modernisation, Student Theses now aligns well with the other systems of the Leiden University Libraries (UBL).
With this update and migration, the key functions of Student Theses have been retained, and the user environment has been completely overhauled. Because the repository now runs on the same software as the university catalogue, it can be more easily adapted to future developments and innovations.
Widely used
Over the past few years, Student Theses has grown into a substantial and widely used collection. The repository now contains nearly 60,000 bachelor's and master's theses from approximately 100 Leiden University study programmes. Together, these are downloaded more than 600,000 times annually. The thesis repository increases the visibility of theses, supports education, and helps students apply their work to their further development.
Future updates
The update of Student Theses is part of the Repository Replacement project. In this project, UBL aims to modernise its digital infrastructure and collections. In the coming months, Scholarly Publications and Digital Collections will also be migrated and updated.
