Leiden University Libraries Signs AI Agreement with International Heritage and Knowledge Institutions

On December 3rd, AI4LAM (Artificial Intelligence for Libraries, Archives, and Museums) was launched in London. Leiden University Libraries (UBL)is a founding member, along with more than 40 leading international heritage and knowledge institutions. Together with our partners in AI4LAM, UBL aims to promote knowledge sharing and secure, transparent AI applications within the heritage domain for educational, research, and public-facing purposes.

Leiden University is a leader in the Netherlands in the application of AI in research and education, including through the interdisciplinary research program SAILS. UBL aims to further explore the possibilities of AI in the areas of metadata, digital information literacy, image recognition, and the qualitative evaluation of AI-embedded applications in information systems.
