The conference Writing Numbers in Papyri: Scribal Training, Representation and Use will take place from Wednesday 4 until Friday 6 November. This is the seventh conference in the series ‘Papyri in a Changing World’. The event will take place in the Leiden University Library (Witte Singel 27, 2311 BG, Leiden). The conference will be on location only; there is no livestream.

The theme of Writing Numbers in Papyri is how numbers were written and used in texts written on papyri, how scribes shaped, learned and corrected numbers, and how written numbers were influenced by intercultural contact.

The conference is open to any interested parties. If you would like to join the lunches on Thursday 5 and/or Friday 6 November, we ask for a contribution of 10 euro per day.
