Course contents

Shell & Version control

Day 1 covers working with the Unix shell, also known as the command line. The shell allows you to give very precise commands to the computer in a very concise way.

Using our basic knowledge of the command line, the next part covers the Git version control application. Git is used around the world to keep track of changes in software and to collaboratively create and maintain software and other text-based files.

Python programming

Day 2 is dedicated to starting with programming using the Python programming language. We focus on Python fundamentals, followed by analysing and visualising tabular data. See the dedicated workshop website for details.
