This subject guide is a work in progress, aimed to provide access to relevant academic works and online resources on Palestine and Israel, as well as, documentaries, films, and literature to familiarize yourself with the complexities of the conflict.

  • Palestine Joe Sacco (2003), gripping report from Joe Sacco’s months in Palestine during the first intifada. He also published Footnotes in Gaza (2009) about the 1956 killings in Rafah and Khan Younis

  • Baddawi by Leila Abelrazaq (2015), tells the story of the author’s flight from Palestine and life in a camp in Lebanon

  • Tunnels by Rutu Modan (2021), ironic tale of treasure hunters in the politicized field of Bible archaeology across Israeli and Palestinian territories

  • Liwan: A story of cultural resistance, 2023,  written and directed by Doris Hakim
  • Five broken cameras, 2012, written by Guy Davidi and directed by Emad Burnat and Guy Davidi
  • I signed the petition, 2018, Mahdi Fleifel. Experimental short video in which two young Palestinians in the diaspora discuss Palestinian solidarity politics.
  • Promises, 2001, written by B.Z. Goldberg. follows the life of 7 Jewish and Palestinian children from 1995-1998.
