Studying and conversation
Several areas within the libraries are marked as quiet zones. Outside of these zones you may confer in a subdued voice.
Leiden University offers two wireless networks: Eduroam and Leiden University Wireless Access. More information regarding these networks may be found on the website of the university’s ICT Shared Service Centre.
A valid library card is required to be able to use the libraries’ computers. Please check our find a computer webpage for a real-time overview of available computers.
- After 20 minutes of inactivity, computers will be logged out automatically and are considered available for another user
- It is not allowed to use a computer study place while not using the computer
- When leaving the computer for a short break, please remove all personal devices such as pendrives or headphones

Single occupancy study rooms in the UB
The University Library offers sixteen individual study rooms. The use of these rooms is restricted to Leiden University students.
Rooms are assigned daily on a first come, first served basis; please inquire at the reception desk for availability. Keys must be returned at the reception desk the same day.
In the individual study rooms some specific rules and the Leiden University Libraries house regulations apply.
