Publish Open Access in the Leiden Repository
Most journal publishers offer the opportunity to archive the author’s version, postprint or preprint of a research article in your institutional repository, the Leiden Repository, even when the corresponding journal is not an Open Access journal.
Upload and register your publication
This is the so called Green Road to Open Access. You may visit the Sherpa/Romeo website to check for your publisher’s policy and possible embargo periods concerning Green Open Access.
When your article is published in full Open Access we still encourage you to store your peer reviewed version in the repository. By doing so, you are enhancing the visibility of your own research and contributing to the value of the Leiden Repository. This is most easily done upon registration in LUCRIS. Additionally, the repository is dedicated to providing long term, sustainable access to your publication.
Open Access in LUCRIS
Starting in 2015, Open Access publications by Leiden researchers will be counted for administrative purposes and reported to the VSNU. Intitially, this will only apply to articles published in journals. When an article is registred in LUCRIS, details about Open Access will be asked.
