Scholarly monographs humanities and social sciences available in open access
Leiden University Libraries and Leiden University Press are proud to participate in the successful international endeavor to make humanities and social sciences scholarly monographs available in open access.

Through the initiative of Knowledge Unlatched almost 300 libraries from 21 countries have financed 78 scholarly monographs from 26 prominent university and academic publishers. This level of international cooperation makes it possible to produce top notch scholarly monographs in open access. Libraries also demonstrate in this way that they can lower the cost of books by converting their acquisitions budget into a shared cost publishing model.
Leiden University Libraries is a Charter Member of Knowledge Unlatched and has participated in both OA publishing rounds KU has developed. Leiden University Press participates in the current round and will make available via OA the following monographs:
