Coronavirus measures at Leiden University Libraries

Even now that we're all adhering to social distancing rules, you can come to the library to print and copy, to pick up or return books and of course to study! Things are just a little different from what we’re used to.

UB

You can come study at the University Library, the Wijnhaven Library, the Social and Behavioural Sciences Library and the Law Library. You just have to reserve a study place beforehand. You can easily do just that via our website. There, you can select the library of your choice, login with your ULCN-account and choose your preferred time slot. Subsequently, you'll receive an e-mail confirming your reservation. Make sure to check your mailbox to be certain you got the e-mail, because this is also your ticket inside.

You can only reserve a spot one day in advance

Check out the videos below to learn more about corona measures at the library and reserving a study place. (English subtitles are available)

Hygiene

  • Clean your hands carefully before entering the library. Disinfectant gel is provided at the entrance of each location for this purpose.
  • Keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters to other users at all times.
  • A maximum of one person at a time can enter the bathrooms.
  • Cough and sneeze in your elbow, not in your hand.
  • If necessary, use disposable tissues and throw them in the trash after use.
  • Wash your hands regularly with water and soap.

Walking routes

We've created walking routes in every library. That way, you can easily maintain 1.5 metres distance from other students and visitors. Follow the arrows on the floor whenever you are inside one of the buildings. An added bonus is that you can easily familiarise yourself with our buildings. You'll find your way in the library in no-time.
