Research Drive: secure and easy storage and sharing of research data
On Monday 27 January, SURF is coming to Leiden University to present their ResearchDrive. All Data Management Network members are invited to come along and hear more about the service. We will be looking for pilot projects so potential end-users are also welcome.
In short, ResearchDrive is similar to SURFdrive but for research groups/projects rather than for individual usage. For each project, a data manager or data steward can assign rights to group members and this makes it easier to share data within groups and projects. SURF is working on adding various applications to ResearchDrive, including, for example Jupyter Notebooks. A brief summary can be read on the SURF website.
The meeting will consist of two parts:
- 13:00 – 14:30 general introduction for everyone, including end users
- 14:30 – 16:00 training for data managers and support staff.
Leiden University has a licence for ResearchDrive and will pilot the usage with a fair number of projects, preferably with at least one from every faculty.
Please bring your LU staff card for easy entry to the Library building. If you are interested and have not already signed up to attend, send an email to Jacko Koster j.koster@BB.leidenuniv.nl
