Manuscript Monday: Manuscript Research without Manuscripts?

Dr. Cornelis van Lit, O.P. of Utrecht University will speak about the use of digitised manuscripts for research drawing from his new book Among Digitized Manuscripts: Philology, Codicology, Paleography in a Digital World (Brill, open access) with examples from Islamic manuscript studies. Dr. Krista Murchison (Leiden) will speak about manuscripts from Leiden University Libraries that were saved during the Second World War when the German occupiers wanted to remove these manuscripts from the library.
The event is part of “Manuscript Monday”, a lecture series organized by the Huygens Manuscript Group at various locations in The Netherlands. The lectures are held in English. Registration is appreciated and can be done through an online form.
