New and renewed deals for Open Access publishing: check the Journal Browser
The Journal Browser is the best place to check what good quality journals offer Open Access publishing without any costs to Leiden authors
In 2021, several Open Access publishing agreements with large publishers such as Taylor&Francis, CUP, OUP, Lippincott have been renewed or are on the verge of reaching a new contract. VSNU, SURF, and the university libraries aim to use those agreements to make a switch towards a sustainable model for Open Access publishing.
In the Journal Browser, submitting authors from Leiden University including LUMC can browse an extensive list of journals and check what the results of these new contracts mean for them. The Journal Browser contains all journals derived from Scopus not just those with an Open Access agreement for Leiden authors. The Journal Browser does not contain predatory journals.
You can browse the Journal Browser and look at the possibilities to publish Open Access listed per journal. If you only wish to see the journals that will allow you to publish without having to pay, you can use the filter in the menu on the left hand side of the Journal Browser.
If you have any questions on Open Access publishing or the use of the Journal Browser, the Open Access team at the Centre for Digital Scholarship will happy to help via: email@example.com.
In the screenshots below, we show you how to find the information you need in the Journal Browser.
