CUP re-instates free access to textbooks
An html version of all textbooks from the Cambridge Core collection is freely accessible for Leiden University educators and students until May 31.
At the start of the corona crisis, Cambridge University Press (CUP) decided to give free access to all for over 700 textbooks from its Core Collection. Unfortunately, the website went down immediately because of the huge demand for these books both from students and pirates. As of March 27, the books are back online, but access is limited to users from existing subscribers such as Leiden University.
The Core Collection holds textbooks in most disciplines, from classical studies to sociology, life sciences and medicine. We know printed copies of the textbooks from the Cambridge Core Collection are already being used by many educators at Leiden University. We have, therefore, asked for – and received - access from CUP until 31 May.
