New in the library: High and low literary culture of 19th-century England
After a successful trial Leiden University now has full access to a primary source collection called British Theatre, Music and Literature: High and Popular culture.
This collection is part of the Nineteenth Century Collections Online (NCCO), digital source collections of the long nineteenth century, including books, newspapers, periodicals, diaries and personal letters.
British Theatre, Music, and Literature: High and Popular Culture is a subcollection of the NCCO, featuring a wide range of primary sources related to the arts in the Victorian era, from playbills and scripts to operas and complete scores from the British Library and other renowned institutions. For those who are more interested in popular culture, the collection also includes popular street literature and penny dreadfuls.
