Access to fewer films in Kanopy, but look further on Docuseek2
February this year the UBL opened up access to the video platform Kanopy. The more than 30,000 movies and documentaries on this platform have been viewed en masse. In fact, so many movies where watched the costs became a bit too high. That is why we had to decide to now only give access to the films that received the highest usage rates. You can find these directly on the Kanopy homepage.
As alternative we offer access to to Docuseek 2, a streaming video database offering hundreds of independent, social-issue and environmental documentary films from its member distributors Bullfrog Films, Icarus Films, the National Film Board of Canada, Kartemquin Films, MediaStorm, KimStim, Scorpion TV, and Terra Nova Films. The films address a wide range of subjects, with notable depth in anthropology, the environment, urban studies, the global economy and American Studies. Closed captions and interactive transcripts are available for most titles.
