University Library and Law Library access restrictions
During the Faculty of Humanities and the Leiden Law School examination periods, students registered at educational institutions other than Leiden University, and annual fee card holders who do not verifiably depend on the library collections for their research, will temporarily not have access to the University Library (UB).
Apart from examination periods, the UB welcomes all visitors.
The Law Library will be closed to students registered at educational institutions other than Leiden University, and for annual fee card holders who do not verifiably depend on the library collections for their research, during the whole academic year (until 5 July 2019).
In recent years, Leiden University Libraries has almost doubled its number of available study spaces. At the same time, we also saw an increase in the number of visitors, causing the University Library and the Law Library to be especially crowded during examination periods. In order to meet Leiden University students' concerns, and in compliance with our library regulations, Leiden University Libraries has chosen to regulate library access.
