Access to high and low literary culture of 19th-century England
Nineteenth Century Collections Online (NCCO) offers access to primary source collections of the long nineteenth century, including books, newspapers, periodicals, diaries and personal letters.
The UBL is currently running a trial for collection 3 (British Theatre, Music, and Literature: High and Popular Culture), which features a wide range of primary sources related to the arts in the Victorian era, from playbills and scripts to operas and complete scores from the British Library and other renowned institutions. For those who are more interested in popular culture, the collection also includes popular street literature and penny dreadfuls.
