Visibility of research software

Better visibility and rentention of research software

Leiden University seeks to increase the visibility of research software. This pilot project investigates the suitability to use the research Software Directory (RSD) to this end.

The use of computers is indispensable to performing research and many researchers spend a considerable amount of time writing code. The visibility of this code, however, is minimal.

The RSD is a service hosted by the NLeScience Center and it:

  • Increases the findability of software
  • Encourages a widespread use of software
  • Facilitates the monitoring of scientific impact

Utrecht University and Amsterdam UMC also participate in the pilot that runs from February 2022 until December 2022.
